Adult Mental Health First Aid Workshop
Saturday, May 11 | 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. | Oak Brook | Room 262

This 8-hour training program, run by National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI)-trained facilitators, teaches participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. This class is appropriate for anyone over the age of 18 who wants to learn more about mental health problems. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it helps trainees identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
